As a high-strength, high-conductivity, and heat-resistant copper-based alloy, CuCrNb boasts excellent thermal conductivity, resistance to high-temperature creep, and high-temperature strength. It can be used in manufacturing rocket propulsion components such as rocket combustion chamber liners and fuel injector panels. The U.S. is a leader in the 3D printing of Cu-Cr-Nb alloys, having successfully printed GRCop-42 combustion chamber liners and conducted a series of related tests.

 

In China, research into 3D printing Cu-Cr-Nb alloys is still in its early stages, and there are no reports of Cu-Cr-Nb components or commercial products. This is mainly due to the challenges in producing Cu-Cr-Nb powders suitable for additive manufacturing, as well as the inability of traditional infrared lasers to ensure the high-quality and efficient printing of Cu-Cr-Nb powders.
